2. Warranty Period
We provide an 18-month commercial warranty on replacement parts supplied and installed by us. The 18-month period begins on the date the relevant replacement part is installed, as shown on the invoice, receipt or job record.
3. What the Warranty Covers
This warranty applies where a replacement part supplied and installed by us fails within 18 months under normal use because of a defect or premature failure of that replacement part.
If we accept a valid warranty claim, we will attend the service location by arrangement and replace the covered failed part with a suitable replacement.
For an accepted warranty claim, the replacement part, our attendance and the labour required to replace that covered part are all provided without charge.
This 18-month commercial warranty is a parts warranty. It does not create a separate 18-month warranty over unrelated existing components, components we did not replace, or third-party parts.
4. What the Warranty Does Not Cover
To the extent permitted by law, this additional warranty does not cover:
• parts that we did not supply and install;
• customer-supplied parts;
• unrelated parts or components that fail after our repair;
• damage caused by a third party, including repair, alteration, adjustment or interference by another technician, contractor or person;
• misuse, abuse, deliberate damage, impact or accident;
• damage caused by water, flooding, fire, storm, lightning, power surge, pests, corrosion, structural movement or other external causes;
• damage resulting from operating a garage door after a known fault or safety issue where continued use could reasonably cause further damage;
• failure caused by an electrical supply issue, building defect, structural problem or another component outside the part we replaced.
These exclusions apply only to this additional 18-month commercial warranty and do not exclude any right or remedy that cannot lawfully be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law.
5. How to Make a Warranty Claim
To make a claim within the 18-month warranty period, contact us as soon as reasonably possible after becoming aware of the issue:
• Phone: 0426 192 845
• Email: levyburson@gmail.com
• Warranty correspondence address: 58 Blair Street, North Bondi NSW 2026, Australia
Please provide your name, service address, approximate date of the original repair, a description of the problem and, if reasonably available, your invoice, receipt or other information that helps us identify the original job.
We may ask for photographs or arrange an inspection before confirming whether the claim is covered.
6. What We Will Do
If the claim is covered, we will arrange a suitable appointment to inspect and/or replace the covered part. We operate 24/7, but warranty attendance is arranged with the customer in advance.
If the issue is not covered by this warranty, we will explain why and, where appropriate, may offer a separate quote for any additional work.
7. Costs of Making a Claim
For an accepted warranty claim, we bear the cost of the replacement part, our attendance and the labour required to replace the covered part. There is no call-out fee for an accepted warranty claim.
You should not incur third-party repair, transport, postage or other expenses on our behalf without our prior approval. If we specifically ask you to incur a reasonable expense in order to make or support a warranty claim, send the receipt and details to levyburson@gmail.com. We will reimburse an approved reasonable expense that we asked you to incur.
8. Australian Consumer Law
The benefits provided by this 18-month warranty are in addition to other rights and remedies available to consumers under the Australian Consumer Law and other applicable laws.
Mandatory Australian Consumer Law wording
Our goods and services come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. For major failures with the service, you are entitled:
• to cancel your service contract with us; and
• to a refund for the unused portion, or to compensation for its reduced value.
You are also entitled to choose a refund or replacement for major failures with goods.
If a failure with the goods or a service does not amount to a major failure, you are entitled to have the failure rectified in a reasonable time. If this is not done you are entitled to a refund for the goods and to cancel the contract for the service and obtain a refund of any unused portion.
You are also entitled to be compensated for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage from a failure in the goods or service.
9. Proof of Purchase
An invoice or receipt is the easiest way to identify the original repair, but we may accept other reasonable evidence that allows us to confirm the job and the relevant replacement part.
10. Changes to these Warranty Terms
The warranty terms applying to a particular repair are the terms provided or available at the time of that repair. Any later change will not reduce rights already provided to you unless required or permitted by law.
